REGINA MARIA BANEASA PROJECT

The Regina Maria Foundation project is part of an ample interior design series, aimed for the homonymous hospitals and clinics chain. Starting from the admirable and prestigious personality of Queen Mary of Romania, the interior design project imposed a respectful and gracious approach. Thus, the designers chose elegant materials and finishes, that have been completed with carefully chosen furniture pieces. For the walls, the designers opted for a neo-baroque patterned wallpaper with filigree aspect, matching it with the solid coloured finishes of the floors. The whole idea of the interior design was to avoid any resemblance between this space and the other medical units that have a clinical aspect. In this purpose, the project suggests stylised design objects, inspired by Queen Marie’s universe, precious objects with a strong aesthetic impact. Among then we recall large replicas of paintings that evoke times gone by, French tapestry with symbols that depict the main aspects of Queen Marie’s life, and decorative furniture pieces that bring to life collections of evocative pieces. The seating objects quote the image of the throne, they also being totally atypical, in an assumed manner, for the common medical spaces.
